Paint and things that provoke

For better or worse, art provokes. Right Brent?

I saw this and wanted to see what you all thought. An artist named Michael D'Antuono created this I assume to provoke dialog in one form or another. Here's a sample of it. The news story is the link below where there are other samples. I find it...interesting, among other things. Thoughts?

That is one scary painting. I have quite a few thoughts. I don't think i'll add them here.

Hah.

If I put my thoughts here, I might provoke outrage. Better not. But man, what a scary painting, but I think many believe the imagery. (Not me, FYI.)

Haha. Well, the Constitution of the US allows you to say whatever you want. Isn't that great!

So, add them if you want. I doubt (at least I hope) that Obama finds it repulsive.

The predictable consequences of rejecting the Social Kingship of Christ.

Mark - I think that's tongue in cheek (maybe not), although you're right. The world will always be looking for their Savior and ignore the only Messiah there is. The Jews certainly rejected Christ.

Although He will indeed return to rule! I doubt it will have much to do with being president of the US, though. ;-) When He does return, paintings like that will seem very silly indeed.

He apparently changed his mind.

Fascinating. Provocative artistry with a conscience.

Thanks for the update, Nate.

For some reason it makes me think of the Village People...

Romans 1

22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

24Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.

25For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

Man, isn't it so very clear how easily the antichrist will be able to slide right in there? Obama's not the antichrist, alright. At least I'm pretty sure he's not. It's just an object lesson.

No tongue in cheek by me. Has not the west rejected the Social Kingship of Christ? The very establishment of our own country (the US, that is), rejected this traditional doctrine.

As with the Jews before us, we have abandoned God's law and are paying the price of our infidelity.

You know Mark, I've tried to enable that but cannot, for the life of me, figure out how.

Sorry about that!

I confess I am ignorant of the doctrine of the Social Kingship of Christ. Clearly our society in general does not consider Him their King. One day that will no longer be optional.
